This list is in no particular order because who has time for that? Not me! These are just some of my favourite business podcasts, and I needed a listicle in this series, so just roll with it. Podcasts are a great way to continue learning while still being entertained and having the convenience of listening anywhere. I highly recommend them, especially for the busy business student on the go. To go to the podcasts on this list just click the titles.
The Pitch is essentially the podcast version of Shark Tank. You have your bright-eyed entrepreneurs pitching their business to investors. We get to hear the pitch, a brief discussion about the company, and we see the investors tear into the entrepreneur a bit, all while never getting bored. It has all the benefits of a podcast mixed with the intensity of the shark tank.
Start-Up is considered one of the best podcasts because of its unique and informed teaching, as well as it’s realistic description of what running a startup is really like. It has a great mix of personal feelings as well as professional knowledge to give you an engaging and enlightening experience.
Yeah, I know this is basic, but Ted is still worth listening to. The variety of topics and the differing opinions he covers opens a whole world of possibilities. You can learn about anything from business to marketing to mindfulness and the pursuit of happiness. Some talks are funny, some pull at the heartstrings and some are just plain cool!
Tim Ferris has made a big name for himself in the world of business writing and has written some ground-breaking books. He is an equally impressive host. I highly recommend his work because he is an advocate for innovation and working smarter, not harder. He offers a lot of creative ideas that’ll inspire your own creative drive.
This one is actually pretty new, but its unique concept and interesting topics have made it a favourite quite quickly. The idea is simple, each episode covers a case study about a game-changing conflict between two companies. It goes over all the details and offers an exciting take on the business world’s complicated history.
This one is likely more popular with people in the marketing world, but it is still an incredibly engaging listen. It goes into detail about the art and science behind content-marketing, aka my favourite type of marketing. It goes through the step by step process while still exploring creative and innovative avenues. It’s a great listen if you’re looking to kick your creative butt in gear.
This one is the most unique on the list. The central them of this show is – you guessed it – weird work! Cool, right? They talk about some of the strangest professions with the strangest professionals, and it’s awesome. It’s incredible to see the kind of opportunities surrounding us and how inventive and creative our futures can be. If your someone with an odd passion or you know the regular 9 to 5 isn’t for you, definitely check out this one.

This is another marketing one, but I still think everyone should listen to it for the comedic value alone. This podcast thrives at bringing business and entertainment together with informative discussions, celebrity guests and top-notch advice that is entirely interwoven with gut-punching humour.
Ok, this one is one of my favourites although it’s more of an audio collection than a podcast. The Gary Vee Audio Experience focuses on Gary Vee’s keynotes, talks and his answers to the #AskGaryVee questions. Still you got to check him out. He’s innovative, smart, a great leader and a unique personality. He doesn’t sugar-coat or beat around the bush, and he doesn’t shy away from his opinions. You may agree with him or disagree with him, it doesn’t matter because you’ll start thinking. Give him a listen, and you’ll be inspired to get a move on.
Alright, so I may be a little biased with this one but hear me out. The Voice is St. Lawrence College’s own podcast, and it’s hosted by my two pals and fellow marketing & advertising students Danny Damage and Reid Cunningham along with Elle McFeeters, an incredibly accomplished student. They talk about a lot of stuff, and it’s always changing but always entertaining. These hosts are also proof that any type of person can be working in the marketing and business world. Wonder what I mean by that? Well, you’ll just have to check them out to see.

Also, Danny and my other friend Denny are partners in the same competition I’m in. Check out them out and show them support via their social media here.
